Global Innovation Alliance Office (GIA) at Ngee Ann Polytechnic aims to facilitate mutually beneficial internships between Singapore students and startup ecosystems around the world. Its programme, the Global Entrepreneurial Internship (GEI), nurtures polytechnic and university students who aspire to be entrepreneurs and are keen in developing their entrepreneurial skills.
FACTS ABOUT GEI
The overseas internship duration ranges from 3 to 12 months. Students intern in major innovation hubs such as Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh, Jakarta, Manila, Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Helsinki, London, Silicon Valley, and Sydney.
GIA is an appointed partner of the Innovators Academy, a key pillar of the Singapore Economic Development Board’s Global Innovation Alliance initiative. At GIA, we are co-creators of a future where smart cities, young startups and a new generation of digital natives positively impact our future lifestyle, society, environment and economy.
Our mission is to expose Singapore students to innovation and entrepreneurship in innovation hubs around the world and emerging markets in the region. This is achieved through our signature programme, Global Entrepreneurial Internship (GEI), which immerses students in global startup ecosystems through internships.
